The Splashworld Leisure Centre in Southport opened in the summer of 2007 and is attached to the existing Dunes Leisure Centre.  The new Centre is a large and modern building incorporating the new pools and slides together with a changing village, cafeteria etc.

The pools comprise of one large free form water body subdivided into specific zones namely the baby pool, leisure pool, flowing river, landing pool and bubble pool. The powerful and fast moving flowing river is up to 3.5m wide and 64m long. The bubble pool has 16 reclining air beds.

The features include water supplies to two flumes and one tyre ride (having intermediate dwell pools), powerful boosters to the flowing river, a water mushroom, a finger spray, a water cannon, two bridge sprays, four floor air bubblers, five kids wall sprays and 16 bubble beds.

With all treatment and features pumping running simultaneously the flow rate exceeds 4,700m³/hr.

Biwater Leisure designed, supplied, installed and commissioned all of the water treatment and water-based interactive play equipment in the Centre.

A single treatment system treats the total volume of 860 m³/hr of pool water every 1¼ hours utilising automated chemical mixing and dosing, together with UV treatment.   A poolside remote panel additionally allows local control of features in a manual or automated programme mode.
